Cicely Saunders Institute is pleased to invite you to POS Workshops 2019. Each year this event brings together professionals in palliative care where they have the opportunity to hear about innovative approaches and latest developments, essentials of administration, integration, scoring, validation, data capture and interpretation with POS family of measures. Please note that the event is for all professionals (nursing, doctors, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, managers, allied professionals, commissioners and researchers) with an interest in palliative and end of life care.
This meeting is a great opportunity to share your innovations and learn from others. Attendees will be encouraged to discuss issues relevant to their organisation as well as share their experiences of implementing POS measures for clinical and/or research purposes. We encourage you to submit abstracts. We are happy to announce that we are now accepting abstracts for POS Workshops 2019. Last year, a select number of abstracts were chosen and presented. We heard new work on the use of POS family of measures in community, in-patient, day hospice, NHS specialist palliative care inpatient unit settings with diverse patients groups such as with haemodialysis, decompensated liver disease, dialysis and end stage kidney disease patients. The presented work demonstrated use of POS data in symptom management, audit, and service evaluation and in observing changes in quality of life. Poster presentations also included innovative work in palliative care.
The meeting is well attended and a select number of new abstracts are presented each year. The event facilitates sharing of experiences, challenges and exploring opportunities in outcome measurement. This year's workshop have includes POS Clinic - an interactive session where your specific questions involving all aspects of outcome measurement will be answered by an expert panel.
The two-day event will include workshops, informative sessions, discussion sessions and POS Clinic. Registration for the event is now open (please click here to register). This year’s event includes a number of presentation sessions, where you and your team will have the opportunity to present your work. We look forward to welcoming you at POS Workshops 2019. The event is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians.
